A
bhilasha is a naturally talented Indian born self-taught watercolour artist who started painting at the early age of 2 when she won her very first painting competition. As she grew older, she developed a hobby of animation drawing which eventually grew into a serious pastime leading her to where she is today.
Her enthusiasm and obvious love for bright vivid colours was noticed by all in the many local exhibitions and competitions which she took part in as a child and admits to be inspired by the works of early 16th-17th century European artists. Abhilasha, who also has a love for poetry, admits to being influenced by Russian artists in St. Petersburg, a place she truly feels close to her heart due to it's immense beauty and abundant talent.
In 2000, Abhilasha was approached by the British Fine Art Gallery to display her artwork which opened the path for her to publicly exhibit and promote her unique style of watercolour paintings. Her artwork has since been displayed and well received at art exhibitions in the UK and Europe including the recent successful 'Perceptions of Woman' exhibition held at the Smithfield Gallery in London in June 2007 as well as at the Laneside Gallery in Coleraine Northern Ireland in November 2007. Her wonderful watercolours currently hang on the walls of many satisfied and appreciative clients ranging from Spain, Italy, Russia, India and the United Kingdom.
Abhilasha is a wonderful artist naturally blessed with the gift, talent and skill for beautiful watercolour artworks of outstanding beauty and quality that just begs to be seen and appreciated.
